TruStage Risk Alert: Fraudsters Ramp Up Jackpotting Attacks
Fraudsters are escalating coordinated “jackpotting” attacks on credit union ATMs and ITMs, often targeting multiple machines across branches in a short window and causing significant losses.

Fraudsters typically use similar methods to execute these attacks and most involve accessing the machine from the “top hat” which is usually only protected by a generic lock. Credit unions are encouraged to work with their ATM/ ITM vendor to safeguard against these types of attacks.
