Governor Moore’s proclamation highlights how credit unions provide affordable and equitable financial services, helping to dismantle barriers to economic inclusion. In Maryland, 77 credit unions serve over 2 million members, offering essential financial services through a statewide network of branches and employing thousands. These institutions empower individuals, families, and small businesses to achieve financial well-being.

“We are grateful for this recognition,” said MD|DC Credit Union Association President/CEO John Bratsakis. “As member-owned, not-for-profit cooperatives, credit unions put people before profits, making a real difference in our communities.”
