In partnership with The Credit Union Foundation of MD|DC, the MD|DC Credit Union Association presents an enhanced version of CUNA's Financial Counseling Certification Program (FiCEP) with webinar tutorials and live training. Students who successfully complete the program and exam will earn their Credit Union Certified Financial Counselor (CCUFC) Designation.

Who Should Become a Certified Financial Counselor?
Anyone desiring to become a financial counselor should have the opportunity to do so, but training is encouraged and strongly recommended for Lending Staff, Collections Staff, Branch Managers, Trainers, and Educators.
The FiCEP Certification Program Includes:
- 5th Edition Financial Counseling Certification Program Book featuring (8) modules presented in electronic or print format.
- Accompanying Study guides and tutorial webinars to recap and highlight each module.
- Resource materials: counseling conversation starters, budget worksheet, spending plans, counseling program decision guide, and tracking spreadsheet.
- Online practice quizzes to test your knowledge before the exam.
- Instructor-led exam prep session featuring sample multiple-choice questions and test taking tips.
- In-person training session with role-playing, best practices, idea sharing, and resources
- Proctored final exam at designated testing location.
- Certification provided by CUNA upon successful completion of the program.
Program Enrollment
At the time of registration, enrollees will have the option to select their program materials.
Individuals who opt for an electronic version of the program book will likely receive it faster than printed books. Printed books will be delivered to the mailing address provided at the time of registration.

Testing Information
Students will complete their exams virtually with a proctor in accordance with testing guidelines.
Note: Proctors must be able to clearly see the student’s test area with no obstruction. In this case, we recommend a secondary device positioned to view the test area. Students must have access to a laptop computer or tablet with wireless internet connectivity capabilities.
