Session Overview

Join Bonnie Ortiz, a project management subject matter expert, as she teaches this second installment. The objective of this workshop is to learn the skills, tips and techniques necessary to develop the essential pieces of the project management toolkit. 
 
Objectives:
To gain hands-on experience developing the project management toolkit components for all project phases:
  • Origination - transforming a project idea into a documented business case
  • Initiation - developing the project charter for executive buy-in and sponsorship
  • Execution - developing the work breakdown structure from the major deliverables to the most detailed tasks
  • Management - controlling the work with a thorough communication and risk plan
  • Close-out - wrapping up the loose project ends and assessing the project performance and benefits   

Session Agenda
8:30 am to 9:00 am - Signing in, networking, light breakfast
9:00 am to 3:00 pm - Training (Lunch is Provided)

Who Should Attend
This training is recommended for those who have attended the first session in this series, Basic or Fundamentals.    

About Your Speaker
Bonnie Ortiz, Founder, O2 Consulting Group

Bonnie Ortiz is a recognized expert at managing projects, assessing organizational processes and developing leaders. Since 2009, Bonnie has helped The Partnership Federal Credit Union bring value to its community by focusing on her passion for people, processes and projects with the goal of making a difference. During her tenure at the Credit Union, she has provided value through partnership for members by developing products and services such as the Value in Partnership (VIP) member engagement program, and eValuator, a member-facing cost-comparison tool to help members save on their loans.  

Bonnie was honored with the 2015 Credit Union Times IT Executive of the Year Trailblazer Award and the 2014 Credit Union Magazine Rock Star Award for her innovative approach to business technology. In 2015, The Partnership FCU received the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) Lending Council Excellence in Lending Award for the lending evolution project and the CUNA Louise Herring Philosophy-in-Action Member Service Award for the VIP Program.

Bonnie is a University of Pittsburgh graduate and completed both the Federal and Commercial Project Management programs at George Washington University. In her spare time, you can find Bonnie applying her passions for people, processes and projects in ways that make a difference. Bonnie currently serves as Co-Chair to the Global Women’s Leadership Network DC Sister Society, is the Commodore of the Herring Bay Yacht Club and gives her time and expertise to cultivating the next generation of leaders.

Session Fees
$290 for credit unions with >$50M in assets
$145 for credit unions with <$50M in assets
$72.50 for credit unions with <$10M in assets

Tuition Reimbursement
Maryland and D.C.-based credit unions with up to $150 million in assets may be eligible for up to 75% educational reimbursement from the Credit Union Foundation of MD & DC.
