About Your Speakers 
Wendy Angus
Associate Regional Director, Programs, National Credit Union Administration, Region II

Since August 2011, Wendy has served as Associate Regional Director in Region II.   In her current role, she oversees the region’s supervision of approximately 1,100 federally-insured credit unions in the states of Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Ohio, New Jersey, as well as those in Washington, D.C. 

Prior to 2011, she served as Director of Risk Management in the Office of Examination and Insurance and primary caretaker of the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund during the most recent financial crisis.   Wendy has held numerous positions in the agency, including Region II’s director of supervision, program officer in the Office of Examination and Insurance, supervisor in the former Office of Small Credit Union Initiatives, regional analyst, and examiner. 

Wendy transferred from FDIC in 1996.   She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Virginia and MBA from George Washington University.

Ruth Martin
Supervisory Examiner, National Credit Union Administration

Ruth is a principal examiner with the National Credit Union Administration. She has worked for NCUA for over 10 years in the greater DC Metro area. She became a principal examiner in 2011, and for approximately the past six years has been an information security and technology subject matter examiner. Ruth has experience in examining information security and cyber security in credit unions of various sizes, from smaller, less complex to multi-billion dollar credit unions.

Prior to joining NCUA, Ruth was a client accounting manager for an institutional investment firm in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a minor in international studies from Robert Morris University in Moon Township, Pennsylvania. She currently lives in Stafford, Virginia with her husband and two greyhounds.

$50/per person

Tuition Reimbursement
Maryland and D.C.-based credit unions with up to $150 million in assets may be eligible for up to 75% educational reimbursement from the Credit Union Foundation of MD & DC.
