Chesapeake Cancer Alliance Wraps Holiday Gifts with Freedom FCU Sponsorship

In continued support of local cancer care, Freedom Federal Credit Union has taken on the sole sponsorship of Chesapeake Cancer Alliance’s (CCA) 2018 Holiday Gift Wrap, which will run from December 8th –  December 24th.

CCA Gift Wrap                                                     Chesapeake Cancer Alliance volunteers, Christine Altmann, Bonnie Naef, Marianne Stoecker, and Jacquie Leach help wrap gifts

They will be wrapping gits at a kiosk located by the Macy’s in Harford Mall. Funds raised through this annual, holiday event benefits Cancer LifeNet at The Patricia D. and M. Scot Kaufman Cancer Center at University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Medical Center (UM UCMC).

Cancer LifeNet is funded fully through philanthropic gifts made by individuals, organizations, and corporate partners of the Chesapeake Cancer Alliance and The Upper Chesapeake Health Foundation. The program offers free-of-charge supportive care services to all cancer patients and their loved ones in Harford and Cecil counties, regardless of where they receive their cancer treatment. “We look forward to everyone bringing their gifts to be wrapped by our helpful volunteers”, stated volunteer coordinator, Gail Cook. “Proceeds raised will benefit much-needed services, programs and support for cancer patients and their families right here, close to home”.

Mike MacPherson, President and CEO of Freedom Federal Credit Union, joined the Board of Directors for the Upper Chesapeake Health Foundation in 2017, and has been instrumental in shaping the Credit Union’s support for the Foundation. “Freedom is proud of our partnership with the Upper Chesapeake Health Foundation and supports their mission to deliver quality healthcare services to the Harford County community,” stated MacPherson. “We are excited to both sponsor and volunteer at this fundraiser, which benefits such a great cause”.

CCA’s annual Gift Wrap is an effort driven by the time and talents of many dedicated volunteers. The booth will be open during Harford Mall’s holiday operating hours. The cost ranges from $2 to $8 depending on the size of each gift and donations are kindly accepted.

Freedom is a proud partner to the Upper Chesapeake Health Foundation, Chesapeake Cancer Alliance and Cancer LifeNet program providing funding and resources for many Foundation campaigns and events.
