On Saturday, May 4, 2013, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, Signal Financial FCU sponsored a paper shredding event with GreenWheaton in the parking lot at the Westfield Mall in Wheaton, MD. The event was part of GreenWheaton's efforts to continue its "green" programming and projects in the Wheaton community, including paper shredding and recycling.
Office Paper Systems, a shredding company located in Gaithersburg, Maryland, provided the shredding service for the event at which approximately 3660 pounds of paper were shredded. The event was attended by more than 100 area residents.
Signal Financial's "Dollar Dog" was on hand at the event to greet people and take pictures with the kids. Dollar Dog is Signal Financial's youth savings club mascot. There was also a table with information about Signal Financial's various products and promotions.
