MD|DC Credit Union Association CEO, John Bratsakis, along with three other league presidents and CUNA CEO Bill Cheney, attended the swearing in. "We are looking forward to working with Board Member Metsger during his tenure on issues that are important to protecting and strengthening the credit union movement. His experience in the Oregon State Senate and as a credit union board member provides for a unique perspective and understanding of a variety of issues," Bratsakis said following the ceremony.
Immediately following his swearing-in, Metsger attended a reception in his honor organized by the Northwest Credit Union Association (NWCUA) at Credit Union House. During his brief remarks, Board Member Metzger reiterated his vision for NCUA. "As I said during my confirmation hearing, my vision is for NCUA to be recognized as an agency that manages its own fiscal house well, proposes regulatory action that is effectively targeted to achieve the desired outcome without placing unnecessary burdens on the credit unions themselves and, above all, maintains the confidence and trust the American public places in their local credit union," Metsger said.
Board Member Metzger will attend his first board meeting on September 12.
