Maryland’s Paid Leave Law is Now in Effect

Efforts to delay the implementation of Maryland's Healthy Working Families Act were unsuccessful. While the Senate voted to delay implementation until July 1. 2018, efforts to pass the measure in the House failed. Paid leave took effect on February 11, 2018. To assist businesses, the Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation (DLLR) created a draft sample employee notice poster.
