Efforts to delay the implementation of Maryland's Healthy Working Families Act were unsuccessful. While the Senate voted to delay implementation until July 1. 2018, efforts to pass the measure in the House failed. Paid leave took effect on February 11, 2018. To assist businesses, the Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation (DLLR) created a draft sample employee notice poster. Additional information is available at www.dllr.maryland.gov/paidleave. DLLR is also developing sample policies that will be available on the website soon.
