The Partnership Federal Credit Union recently collected over $3,200 in donations of toys and games for patients at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
Children’s National Medical Center reached out to the Credit Union asking for help to satisfy their need of filling new inpatient toy carts. These small carts, funded solely by donations, provide patients with easier access to toys and games from their rooms. In three weeks during the month of October, The Partnership FCU was able to fulfill this need with their successful “Play It Forward” membership toy drive.
Members were invited to drop off new toys and games in the branch, and every time members made a transaction in a branch or over the phone, they were encouraged by Credit Union employees to donate at least a dollar. For every dollar a member donated during the campaign, they received a paper balloon provided by Children’s National Medical Center to write their name on and post in the branch.
“We believe that everyone in our community deserves value through partnership,” said Theresa Mann, President/CEO of The Partnership FCU. “We are extremely grateful for the generosity, efforts and contributions from both our members and our employees to help patients and their families at Children’s National Medical Center. It is a true showing of value through partnership.”
The Partnership FCU actively fundraises as a part of Credit Unions for Kids, the national non-profit collaboration of credit unions united to raise money for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Throughout the year, The Partnership FCU will fundraise specifically for their local hospital, Children’s National Medical Center, the champions for pediatric healthcare for more than 140 years in the nation’s capital.
With the culmination of the Play It Forward campaign, The Partnership FCU’s has raised over $8,000 in 2017 for Children’s National Medical Center, including participation in the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run. In June, The Partnership FCU was honored by Credit Union Miracle Day as winners of the 2017 Credit Union Member Donation Challenge for their excellent fundraising totals.
