Over 200 Attendees Participate in Association’s Webinar on ADA Website Compliance

Mon, Nov 13, 2017

More than 200 attendees participated in last week’s ADA website compliance webinar hosted by the Association in partnership with Kaufman & Canoles, P.C. John Bredehoft from Kaufman & Canoles, P.C. and Ken Otsuka from CUNA Mutual Group provided legal guidance and risk analysis. The webinar was moderated by E. Andy Keeney, Esq., Kaufman & Canoles and John Bratsakis, CEO, MD|DC Credit Union Association.

If your credit union has received a letter threatening legal action related to ADA compliance of your credit union’s website, you are encouraged to notify your insurance provider to file a claim. You should also contact your credit union’s legal counsel. Until the Department of Justice issues website regulations under Title III of the ADA, credit unions should evaluate and create a plan of action to protect themselves from ADA web-related lawsuits. The webinar was recorded and the following links have been provided by Kaufman & Canoles, P.C. for guidance:
