Democracy Federal Credit Union is “Losing” Wallets All Over Old Town Alexandria

Wed, Oct 4, 2017

Democracy Federal Credit Union is hiding 50 DFCU-branded wallets around Old Town Alexandria – all of which contain a $1 bill. If a wallet is found, you are invited to bring it into the new branch at 400 N. Columbus Street and they’ll exchange that $1 for a $10 bill! That means there is $500 out there waiting to be claimed, starting Friday, October 6!

Wallets can be turned in starting Saturday, October 7, 2017, during Democracy FCU’s Grand Opening Celebration of their new Alexandria Branch. All are invited to the event being held from 11am to 2pm in the parking lot next to the branch. They’ve planned fun for all ages with activities including a bounce house, face painting, music, food, prizes, fun giveaways and more!

Democracy FCU is overjoyed to provide a full service micro branch to their community in Alexandria. They officially open their doors on Tuesday, October 10, 2017. The new branch will stand ready to help members with any of their banking needs, from depositing a check to applying for a loan. The new location features teller pods to bolster member engagement and will be open Saturdays.

“Our new Alexandria Branch is an exciting step in our wide-ranging expansion plan for the Credit Union. Our hope is to continue to build upon our already strong financial foundation, while simultaneously making a positive impact in the Alexandria community,” said Kathy Geary, President and CEO of Democracy Federal Credit Union.
