Securityplus Federal Credit Union hosted its seventh citywide Shred Day event on Saturday, September 16, 2017 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Camden Yards, Parking Lot H.

The free event hosted by Securityplus as a way for members of the community to guard against identity theft by properly disposing personal documents. Additionally, this year’s Shred Day coupled as a fundraiser to benefit Strong City Baltimore, a local organization dedicated to building and strengthening Baltimore neighborhoods.

While the Credit Union came up short of setting the Guinness World Record, there were more than 44,700 pounds of material shred and over $11,000 raised to support Strong City Baltimore, successfully making this Securityplus’ largest Shred Event to date.

Securityplus Federal Credit Union is a $380 million not-for-profit, member-owned, full service financial institution, with six branches. Securityplus serves over 35,000 members in the greater Baltimore community.
