MD|DC CUA and Credit Union National Association invite Maryland and DC's credit unions to register for the 2018 CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference, being held in Washington, D.C. February 25 to March 1, 2018.
“CUNA GAC is without a doubt the most important credit union advocacy event of the year,” said CUNA President and CEO Jim Nussle. “Bringing together credit union leaders from across the country, this conference demonstrates to legislators that we are a united front advocating on behalf of our members.”
CUNA GAC offers an action-packed schedule, including keynote and breakout sessions from renowned speakers, the largest exhibit hall of any event in the financial services industry and many networking opportunities.
At the heart of CUNA GAC are Hill visits, which are organized by the MD|DC Credit Union Association. Conference attendees travel to Capitol Hill to speak to their legislators, showing them just how important credit unions are to their 110 million members and having important conversations to change the credit union regulatory environment for the better.
“The advocacy impact that CUNA GAC provides for the credit union industry is a huge differentiator,” said John Bratsakiis. “This is an incredible opportunity for our member credit unions to talk to legislators about Maryland and DC's regulatory challenges together. We strongly encourage those members to join the CUNA GAC to remind legislators how much credit unions mean to their constituents.”
Credit union professionals under the age of 35 will again have the opportunity to attend CUNA GAC on scholarship facilitated by The Cooperative Trust.
