Securityplus Federal Credit Union is preparing its attempt at a Guinness Book World Record during its free Citywide Shred Day event on Saturday, September 16, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Camden Yards parking lot H, located 211 W. West Street, Baltimore.
Given the popularity of this year’s site and the high attendance of previous events, the public is encouraged to arrive early. The Credit Union is expecting a turnout of approximately 5,000 people and anticipates each of the 15 shred trucks on site to fill by the conclusion of the event.
Attendees are welcome to bring as many documents as they’d like to be shred to help prevent ID theft and to assist the Credit Union in setting the record for the most paper collected in an 8-hour period. Securityplus will also be accepting cash donations to benefit local organization, Strong City Baltimore.
To add to the excitement, local food trucks will be at the event serving all attendees. For more details regarding this event, including a list of what materials can be shred safely, visit www.securityplusfcu.org/shred.
Securityplus Federal Credit Union is a $380 million not-for-profit, member-owned, full service financial institution, with six branches. Securityplus serves over 35,000 members in the greater Baltimore community.
