NCBA CLUSA is pleased to announce that the Summer 2017 issue of the Cooperative Business Journal—an exploration of co-ops and the inclusive economy—is now available online!
A year ago, as NCBA CLUSA celebrated its 100th Anniversary, its Board of Directors embarked on a strategic visioning process to define the organization's role for the next hundred years of representing people who use cooperatives to build a better world. Focusing on co-op enterprise as a "Force for Good," the board discovered that the Seven Cooperative Principles align closely with the Five Indicators of the Inclusive Economy, as published in a recent Rockefeller Foundation report.
The Summer 2017 issue of the Journal dedicates space to exploring this issue in depth. Our feature article, written by Danny Spitzberg of the #BuyTwitter campaign, explores what it could look like if the cooperative movement transitioned to a new norm for economic inclusivity. This issue also examines why co-ops are the best business model to drive economic change, the role good governance plays in the inclusive economy, and how a new vanilla co-op in Madagascar is embracing inclusivity.
