Germantown, Maryland

Montgomery County Employees Federal Credit Union (MC EFCU), a Montgomery County, Md.-based full-service financial institution, is proud to announce its support for two Maryland Hispanic Achievement Scholarships, which were awarded at the County Executive’s Hispanic Gala. The two local college students receiving the scholarships are Mareine Mbengang, a student at the Community College of Baltimore County, and Jacqueline Medina, who attends Montgomery College.

More than 50 scholarships are presented at the gala to recent Maryland graduates or GED recipients planning to attend a Maryland college or university in 2017 and are in financial need. The annual event brings together elected officials, the business community, philanthropists, and the Hispanic community to support and promote post-secondary education opportunities for eligible students in Montgomery County. MC EFCU is in its third year of supporting the scholarship program.

“We, at MC EFCU, are invested in our community and we know there is no better investment we can make in our future than that of supporting young people who are advancing their education,” says Jorge Saenz, MC EFCU Director of Sales and Service. “We applaud County Executive Leggett for creating this wonderful event to celebrate educational excellence and to ensure that more students in our community will be able to pursue their college dreams. We are proud to support this important cause.”
