Ocean City, Maryland
The MD|DC Credit Union Association participated in the Maryland Association of Counties (MACo) Annual 2016 summer conference at the convention center in Ocean City last week. The conference brought together thousands of stakeholders and is the largest annual gathering of county and elected officials in the state. In addition to dozens of break-out sessions on a wide array of topics, the conference afforded the Association the ideal opportunity to interact, engage and build on relationships with Gov. Hogan, members of his cabinet including DLLR, as well as dozens of elected and state agency officials who serve in the General Assembly and have jurisdiction over financial services issues.
In addition to Gov. Hogan and state Sen. Catherine Pugh (who is also the democratic nominee for Baltimore’s mayoral race), Sen. Ben Cardin was one of the conference’s keynote speakers.
The Association’s advocacy team engaged with other members of our Congressional delegation including Senate candidate Chris Van Hollen, Rep. Dutch Ruppersberger and Rep. John Delaney. The conference served as a great opportunity to share the credit union message with elected officials from all branches of government.
