Cyber security attacks on financial institutions have become exceedingly more frequent, sophisticated, and targeted. Is your credit union adequately prepared for an attack? Is you credit union adequately prepared for your next audit?
The 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cyber Security Workshop on September 9, will feature NCUA’s National Field Supervisor in the Office of National Examinations and Supervision, and cyber security experts from BAE Systems Inc., a global defense, security and aerospace company.
Among topics NCUA’s Jerald Garner will cover are NCUA’s examination focus and its Cyber Security Self-Assessment as well as NCUA’s recommendations for layered security and in-depth defense.
According to Verizon’s 2015 data breach report, more than two-thirds of incidents involve phishing, creating a paramount need for organizations to protect their data. In addition to the need for advanced email protection, BAE Systems representatives will talk about how to reduce the likelihood of your credit union falling prey to an advanced persistent threat.
This important training session is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at MD|DC CUA, 8975 Guilford Road, Suite 190, in Columbia. Light breakfast and lunch are included.
