July 9 – Onboarding New Members – 9 a.m. to noon in Columbia- This session will explore the best practices in onboarding new members. The specific areas of discussion will include a review of the account opening process, an overview of various ways to manage the process, when, how and who should make the follow-up connections, and valuable next steps in the process. The half-day class will be presented by Nick Koumentakos, MDDCCUA's Chief Services Officer, who has more than 25 years of sales and service experience with the financial services industry.
July 16 – Regulation, Legislation, Litigation and the HR Manager – 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Columbia- An interactive and engaging presentation by Christine Walters, who has nearly 25 years of combined experience in management, HR administration, employment law practice, and teaching. She will review the latest new laws, regulations and case studies to provide practical tips and tools for updating your employment policies, practices and procedures.
July 18 – Robbery Safety: A New Approach to an Old Peril – 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Columbia- Former FBI special agent Jim Rechel will present SafeCatch, an FBI-inspired innovative robbery prevention and preparation strategy for financial institutions. Rechel will teach proactive steps to address the peril of robbery with new approaches, handouts, and exercises for all employees. This session is designed for frontline staff and all personnel with responsibility for robbery awareness.
July 23 – Getting Started as a Small Business Banker – 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Columbia- This intensive workshop will teach participants to speak the language of the small business owner. Participants will learn the skills needed to confidently discuss goals, operations, challenges, and opportunities in ways that are meaningful to small businesses, and gain a deeper understanding of the business and confidently recommend solutions that are aligned with your member's goals. The full-day session will be presented by Nick Koumentakos, MDDCCUA's Chief Services Officer, who has more than 25 years of sales and service experience with the financial services industry.
July 24 & 25 – Consumer Lending Seminars – 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Columbia- The first day, designed for loan officers, member service representatives and all lending professionals looking to refresh their lending expertise, will cover lending's critical essentials and best practices for lending success. The second day is an opportunity for all senior executives, including CEOs, lending vice presidents, lending managers, and aspiring lending managers, to learn how to improve the credit union's overall lending results. Both sessions will be presented by nationally acclaimed lending expert Brett Christensen of CU Lending Advice.
