Speaker Jim Sherrill
Jim Sherrill is the Director of Product Distribution for the Credit Union Protection Division (CUP). He is responsible for the technical support of the CUP field distribution staff working with and serving credit unions, and serving as a technical and strategic link between the product and sales operations.

Prior to joining CUNA Mutual in May 2005, Jim spent most of his career as a consultative insurance/risk management broker having worked for both of the largest global brokerage firms, Marsh, Inc. and AON Risk Services, Inc. His brokerage experience includes servicing as Senior Vice President/ Account Executive for large corporate risk management accounts as well as heading the marketing department operations responsible for the placement of customer insurance programs. He has extensive experience in both traditional and non-traditional risk financing programs, including single parent captives, rent-a-captives, and financial reinsurance products.

Jim was also a corporate risk manager for the not-for-profit entity that administered the wholesale electric markets and managed the bulk power grid in the State of New York; an operation that facilitated market transactions in excess of 5.4 billion dollars annually. He joined this organization at its start up and built from ground up a corporate risk management function and risk financing program with an annual budget in excess of 4.5 million dollars.

Jim holds numerous professional designations and has instructed courses / programs on a wide variety of insurance and risk management topics.
 

Speaker Chris Gill
Chris Gill is a risk management consultant in Credit Union Protection Risk Management for CUNA Mutual Group. In this role, he assists credit unions in identifying areas of risk in their operations and recommends appropriate controls to reduce loss exposures.

Gill joined CUNA Mutual Group in 2012 and serves credit unions in Maryland, Virginia, Washington DC, Delaware and southeast Pennsylvania.

Prior to joining CUNA Mutual Group, Gill was the vice president of Risk Management at NARFE Premier Federal Credit Union.

Gill graduated from the University of Maryland with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, holds a MBA from the University of Mary Washington and is a NAFCU Certified Compliance Officer (NCCO).
