Robbery Safety: A New Approach to An Old Peril
“Suppress this robbery and prevent the next one” is the philosophy of an innovative robbery prevention and preparation strategy for financial institutions. SafeCatch, an FBI-inspired program developed by former FBI special agent Jim Rechel, will teach innovative proactive steps to address the peril of robbery with new approaches, handouts, and exercises for all employees.
SafeCatch has two prongs: prevention and partnering with law enforcement. Together they bring a comprehensive plan to the industry, creating an environment that empowers employees to make a difference.
Having the benefit of working in both banking and the FBI, Jim Rechel provides information in an entertaining and interactive format that keeps everyone’s attention. He raises issues that are never considered and includes examples of how financial institutions typically handle those situations.

This informative session is designed for frontline staff and all personnel with responsibility for robbery awareness.
Jim Rechel is president of The Rechel Group, Inc., a risk-consulting firm headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio. A Certified Financial Security Officers and a former FBI special agent, he’s on the board of The Institute for Criminal Justice Education in Montgomery, Alabama. He is a past local board member of the International Association of Financial Crimes Investigators Association and the American Society of Industrial Security. Prior to working for The Rechel Group, he was vice president for Fifth Third Bank headquartered in Cincinnati, where he held positions in various departments, including Retail and Lending, and Security Director.
