This “nuts and bolts” training program addresses key risk areas of a credit union and provides practical information and tools to achieve effective audit results. No nonsense, no fluff – just simple techniques and information to help you be a more productive Supervisory Committee member.
This session will include discussions of:
Jim Higbee is the auditing standards partner for Rowles & Company LLP and is the partner-in-charge for the firm's credit union clients in Maryland, District of Columbia, and Delaware. Jim is a past Treasurer of the Credit Union Foundation of Maryland and the District of Columbia.
An alumnus of Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts, Jim began his public accounting career in 1976. He has taken graduate studies at the University of Maryland in computer auditing.
Jim is a member of the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants' Accounting and Auditing Committee, and is a past Chairman of the MACPA Auditing Standards Committee. Prior service includes being a member of the AICPA Credit Unions Committee and a past President of the Maryland Chapter of the EDP Auditors Association. He also serves as Chairman of the Immaculate Conception Church finance committee, and is a member of the Immaculate Conception Elementary School Board.
Who Should Attend?
This session is designed for credit union Supervisory Committee members, but board members and other committee members may benefit from learning what the Supervisory Committee does as well.
Maryland and D.C.-based credit unions with up to $150 million in assets may be eligible for up to 75% educational reimbursement from the Credit Union Foundation of MD & DC.
