Position Overview

The Technology Coordinator is a crucial team member at Labor Credit Union, responsible for ensuring the seamless operation of the credit union’s Information Technology (IT) infrastructure and Network Security. By effectively executing the duties and responsibilities outlined below, the IT Coordinator contributes to LCU’s commitment to being Bold & Innovative, Convenient, Inclusive, and fostering a Culture of Leadership and Financial Stability. This role involves providing technical support to internal stakeholders and members, managing the credit union’s technical platforms, and staying abreast of emerging IT trends to optimize credit union operations and enhance member experiences. Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, maintain, and optimize the credit union’s IT infrastructure, incorporating hardware, software, and network components, to uphold efficient and dependable operations.
  •  Act as the primary liaison for technology related issues, troubleshooting and resolving problems promptly to minimize downtime and disruptions.
  • Collaborate with software and network providers to implement, maintain, and optimize credit union applications, software, and systems.
  • Lead and facilitate the execution of organizational projects, enhancements, and upgrades, guaranteeing their successful completion within the defined timelines and budgets.
  • Monitor network performance and security, proactively identifying and addressing potential vulnerabilities or threats.
  • Conduct regular system audits to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Assist credit union staff with technology training and support, helping them optimize their use of technology for improved productivity and member service.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of technology procedures, system configurations, support resources, as well as records of system users and administrators.  Stay abreast of emerging IT trends, tools, and technologies to make informed recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with various departments to understand their IT needs, offer technical advice, and implement solutions that align with credit union objectives.
  • Facilitate vendor relations in the technology domain, performance assessments, and resolving any arising issues.
  • Provide after-hours support for critical IT incidents, participating in an on-call rotation schedule as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (equivalent work experience will be considered).

Requirements

  • History of working in roles such as IT Coordinator, IT Support Specialist, or similar positions within a credit union or financial institution. Familiarity with a diverse set of system platforms and their integration with other platform systems.
  • Sound understanding of information security principles and best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and provide effective solutions.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, capable of effectively handling multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build positive relationships with internal and external partners.
  • A proactive and self-motivated approach to work, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.

Additional Comments

  • 10% travel required.
