The MD|DC Credit Union Association advocates on behalf of Maryland and D.C. credit unions with regards to regulatory actions being taken at the federal, state, and local levels of government. The Advocacy Department is actively monitoring proposed and final regulations that will affect credit unions and the member-consumers that they serve. As a part of this process, the MD|DC Credit Union Association submits comment letters on behalf of the credit unions that it represents to the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), Maryland Commissioner of Financial Regulation, and other relevant regulatory agencies.
To ensure that its comment letters reflect the views of the credit unions it represents, the MD|DC Credit Union Association's Advocacy Committee, which is comprised of staff and volunteers representing credit unions from across Maryland & the District, provides valuable input in the comment drafting process. While the Association's Advocacy Committee is the tasked with helping the Advocacy Department to develop comment letters on behalf of Maryland & D.C. credit unions, input from individual credit unions is always welcome.
