Securityplus FCU Expands to Parkville with New Branch Designed for the Future

Securityplus Federal Credit Union has announced the upcoming opening of its sixth branch location at 1740 E. Joppa Road in Parkville, marking a significant milestone in the credit union’s continued growth and commitment to serving members throughout the Baltimore region.

The new Parkville branch is scheduled to begin a soft opening on October 15, 2026, bringing Securityplus’ signature personalized service to a community that has long expressed a desire for a branch on the east side of Baltimore.

For years, members have asked Securityplus to establish a presence in the area. With the opening of the Parkville branch, that vision has become a reality.

More than simply expanding its footprint, Securityplus is using the Parkville location to help shape the future of the organization. The branch has been designed as a prototype for future Securityplus locations, featuring a modern layout focused on member relationships, community engagement, and technology-driven convenience.

With the Parkville branch, Securityplus is moving beyond the traditional banking model and toward a more relationship-based, community-driven approach that prioritizes financial education, meaningful conversations, and personalized guidance. The innovative design incorporates enhanced technology and dedicated consultation spaces, creating an environment that better supports members’ financial journeys while maintaining the personal touch that defines the Securityplus experience.

“Our new branch will allow us to test a ‘futuristic’ model with more technology and space for consultations and meaningful moments,” said Mike Barr, Chief Eexecutive Officer of Securityplus Federal Credit Union. “It will also give the credit union a foothold in an area with a high concentration of small business.”

The new branch reflects Securityplus’ commitment to evolving alongside the needs of its members while remaining focused on the communities it serves. By combining innovative technology with personalized service, the Parkville location will provide a glimpse into the next generation of Securityplus branches.

Barr says the opportunity to bring the Securityplus experience to a community that has waited years for a local branch is especially meaningful.

“I’m most excited to see the residents of Parkville enter our doors with a smile on their faces and ready to experience the Securityplus difference,” Barr said.

As Securityplus continues to grow, the Parkville branch will serve as a model for future branch development, helping the credit union create more engaging, accessible, and member-focused experiences across its network.
