Four affiliates of the MD|DC Credit Union Association have been recognized by American Banker as 2026 Best Credit Unions to Work For.

Among this year’s 70 honorees are FedChoice Federal Credit Union, Transportation Federal Credit Union, Nymeo Federal Credit Union and NIH Federal Credit Union.

The 2026 ranking includes credit unions nationwide, ranging in size from fewer than 30 employees to more than 3,000. American Banker and Best Companies Group evaluated participating credit unions through surveys of both employers and employees, examining workplace policies, leadership, communication, benefits and employees’ overall experiences.

The results point to strong employee satisfaction across the winning credit unions. According to American Banker, 89% of employees at the recognized credit unions reported positive feelings about their work environment, while 87% approved of their employers’ leadership and planning. Additionally, 91% said they had good relationships with their supervisors.

The recognition reflects the credit union movement’s continued emphasis on people, purpose and community, not only in serving members, but also in creating workplaces where employees feel supported and connected to the mission.
