Cedar Point Federal Credit Union® has recently received several local and national awards and nominations. These awards recognize outstanding service and commitment to the Credit Union mission and departmental efforts in financial education.

Both Forbes and Best of Southern Maryland are recognitions that are awarded based on community recommendations. For Forbes, financial institutions are ranked based on feedback from survey respondents on how satisfied they were with and how likely they were to recommend the financial institution. The community nominates Best of Southern Maryland candidates across dozens of categories. Community members vote for their favorite organization or business from the top three nominations.

Cedar Point’s awards from The Marketing, PR, & Development Council, the MD|DC Credit Union Association, and the 2025 Credit Union Times nomination recognize departmental efforts for the video series 12 Days of Risk-Mas. The videos focus on raising awareness of common fraud schemes and teaching best practices to avoid becoming victims of fraud. Aaron Chase, Cedar Point’s Security and Cards Manager, created the original concept, which Marketing Department employees subsequently serialized. The team worked closely with actors from The Newtowne Players, a local community theater group in Lexington Park.

Each organization’s website has announced a list of winners and finalists. These organizations receive hundreds of submissions to recognize the outstanding marketing campaigns, communications, and professionals who are driving change in the financial services industry.

The credit union notes that it is honored to receive these awards because they recognize its efforts on behalf of its members, and it is appreciative of the Southern Maryland community for their ongoing support and trusting it with their financial needs for the last 80 years.
