Association Offers Resources to Support the CDFI Fund
Credit unions that would like to show support for the Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI) Fund can use an email template provided by the MD|DC Credit Union Association.
Late Friday, the Trump Administration issued permanent reduction-in-force (RIF) notices to the entire staff of the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s CDFI Fund. The action has raised concerns about the future of the program, which plays a critical role in expanding access to capital in underserved urban and rural communities.
The Association’s advocacy team is actively engaged with Senators Angela Alsobrooks (MD), Chris Van Hollen (MD), and Lisa Blunt Rochester (DE), all of whom are members of the Senate Banking Committee which has oversight of the CDFI Fund. The Association continues to emphasize the Fund’s proven record of success in helping credit unions leverage investments to support small businesses, affordable housing initiatives, and community revitalization efforts in areas facing significant economic challenges.
Credit unions that would like to voice their support can download the email template.
