Suburban Chapter Hosts Employee Appreciation and Bingo Night

The Association’s Suburban Chapter recently hosted an evening of employee recognition, good food, and fun at the Crooked Crab in Odenton.

Nine employees were recognized for their exceptional contributions. Here’s what their credit unions had to say about what makes them stand out:

Educational Systems FCU

  • Michelle Brooks began her career at Educational Systems Federal Credit Union on May 4, 2009, in our Contact Center. She transitioned to our Accounting Team and worked in a variety of positions. These experiences helped prepare her for her current role as the Office Manager for our Executive Offices. Michelle makes each visitor to the executive office feel special and welcome, assists multiple departments on a daily basis and ensures that our offices run smoothly, and the Board of Directors is taken care of for Board meetings. Michelle takes ownership of any problems or challenges, and she makes sure to work with the appropriate person to make sure that the situation is resolved. She starts and ends every day with a smile, and she embraces the Credit Union Motto of “People Helping People.”
  • Kim Green was hired on January 31, 1994, as a Member Services Operations Specialist and Trainer.  On July 5, 2013, she became an Operations Manager, and on November 20, 2023, Kim became our Internal Service Center Manager. Kim has solid operational technical skills, and she is open and willing to share her expertise with our team.  Recently, Kim led our IRA systems conversion, and she is particularly good at writing clear and understandable policies and procedures that can be easily followed.  Kim is a problem-solver, and her patience if well-known throughout our credit union.  Kim’s operational and historic knowledge of the Credit Union often makes Kim the “go to” person to understand the “why” behind certain processes. We are fortunate to have Kim as a part of our team.
  • Marty Munn was hired as an Assistant Branch Manager at our Forestville Branch on December 27, 2004, and she is currently the Assistant Branch Manager at our Waldorf Branch. While there have been many changes over the years, one thing that has remained consistent is Marty’s commitment to help each one of our members and their personal connection to Marty. She is a great listener and has developed strong relationships with the community,  Marty is solution-oriented, and she models our core values every day. Marty is also a Certified Financial Counselor, and we are honored that she has chosen to work as a part of our team for twenty years.

IBEW 26 FCU

  • Kayla Tripp joined the credit union less than a year ago and has already achieved a record-breaking volume of loans and loan protection products. Her efforts have substantially grown our loan portfolio, contributing to a much-needed increase of our Net Worth Ratio. Kayla goes above and beyond for our members, and we are truly lucky to have her at IBEW 26 Federal Credit Union!
  • Mia Sidell has just reached her one-year milestone with IBEW 26 Federal Credit Union, and what a year it has been!  In just 12 months, Mia has made a tremendous impact—from training and developing a new team to improving the credit union’s Net Worth Ratio. Her leadership contributed to improved examination results with the NCUA and auditors.  She also successfully guided a credit card migration—just to name a few highlights. Mia truly is a rockstar, and we couldn’t be more grateful for her dedication and hard work!
