Kyle Hauptman Appointed Chair of NCUA Board
Kyle Hauptman has been named by President Donald Trump as the 13th Chair of the NCUA Board, succeeding Todd Harper.

As Chair, Hauptman will set the agency’s agenda. He’s expected to build on his priorities since joining the Board in 2020, including advancing innovation and technology, supporting the establishment of new credit unions, and advocating for common-sense regulations.
The NCUA Board is comprised of three members: Hauptman, the lone Republican appointee, and Democratic appointees Todd Harper and Tanya Otsuka, whose terms expire in 2027 and 2029, respectively. Hauptman’s term expires in August.
The MD|DC Credit Union Association extends its congratulations to Chairman Hauptman and looks forward to working together to strengthen the credit union system and its mission of supporting the financial well-being of 142 million members nationwide.
