Prince George’s Community FCU has announced its pledge to support the Bowie Food Pantry, starting August 1, 2024. The credit union will contribute a total of $10,000 through a combination of non-perishable food donations, volunteer efforts, and a direct monetary donation at the end of the year.

In 2024, the credit union committed to expanding its philanthropic efforts through a series of donation pledges and partnerships, with the Bowie Food Pantry at the forefront of this initiative. Starting August 1st, each of the credit union’s four branches will have a donation bin for both employees and members to donate non-perishable goods. The credit union will deliver the goods each month, volunteer on an as-needed basis and make a financial contribution at the end of 2024 to support the food pantry, particularly during the winter months when fresh produce is less accessible.

The Bowie Food Pantry, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, serves residents of Prince George’s County by providing essential food assistance. Debbie Langdon, the Executive Director of the pantry shares, “We are very excited that the Prince George’s Community Federal Credit Union will be supporting our mission to provide food assistance to residents of Prince George’s County. Our pantry relies on the generosity of the community for donations, both food and monetary. With the organization’s help, we will be able to continue serving the residents of the County.”

The Bowie Food Pantry is located at 2614 Kenhill Drive Suite 134 Bowie, MD 20715 and accepts donations on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8am – 11am.
