A crowded field of Democratic hopefuls are vying to succeed retiring Sen. Ben Cardin. The frontrunners, Prince George’s County Executive Angela Alsobrooks and Rep. David Trone, lead the pack in a tight contest. Meanwhile, former Governor Larry Hogan is expected to secure the Republican nomination, setting the stage for a highly competitive race that could decide control of the Senate.

Another closely watched contest is District 3, where State Senator Sarah Elfreth and former Capitol Police officer Harry Dunn have emerged as top contenders among 22 Democratic candidates vying to replace retiring Rep. John Sarbanes.

Voters will also cast their ballots for candidates in District 2 to fill the seat being vacated by the retirement of Rep. Dutch Ruppersberger and District 6, currently represented by Rep. Trone.

Polls are set to close at 8 pm tonight.
