Andrews FCU Creates Holiday Cheer with Toy Drive

The holidays can be challenging for families in need. Thanks to the generosity of Andrews Federal Credit Union members and employees, children at five elementary schools received a little extra cheer to celebrate the season.

From Dec. 4 to Dec. 19, Andrews Federal collected toy donations at the credit union’s Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia branch locations. The toys were then donated to select students at five local elementary schools, including schools on the military bases where Andrews Federal serves. The list of schools supported includes:

  • Princeton Elementary School
  • Barack Obama Elementary School
  • Allenwood Elementary School
  • Benjamin Foulois Elementary School
  • Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling LEARN DC PCS

According to credit union leadership, the toy drive reinforces Andrews Federal’s consistent outreach to local schools and families. “Our credit union actively supports education and strives to enhance the lives of our young community members,” said Damita Robinson, Chief Operating Officer for Andrews Federal Credit Union. “We invest in their growth through projects ranging from creating school libraries to supporting leadership development, and we are also so pleased to have a chance to grant them some holiday joy through our toy drive event.”

Robinson also gratefully acknowledged credit union members for their support of the toy drive. “Every time we ask our members for support, they are exceptionally generous,” Robinson noted. “Whether collecting school supplies, creating awareness for cancer research, or supporting families during the holidays, we know we can depend on the community that our members have created.”
