Otsuka Sworn-in as NCUA Board Member
Tanya Otsuka was sworn-in Monday to the NCUA Board. Chairman Todd Harper administered the oath at the agency’s headquarters in Alexandria, Virginia. Otsuka will serve out the remainder of former NCUA Board Member Rodney Hood’s term, which ends August 2, 2029.
“We want Congratulate Board Member Otsuka on her swearing-in. We look forward to working with her to ensure the safety and soundness of the credit union system, and foster an environment where credit unions can prioritize the financial well-being of their members,”” said John Bratsakis, President/CEO, MD|DC Credit Union Association.
Otsuka most recently worked on Chairman Sherrod Brown’s team at the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee. Her responsibilities included handling various financial services matters, such as credit union policy and oversight.
Otsuka previously served as an attorney at the FDIC where she contributed to policy actions tied to the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act and the Economic Growth, Regulatory Relief, and Consumer Protection Act (S. 2155).
