House Expected to Vote Today to Avoid Government Shutdown
A stopgap funding bill is expected to be voted on by the House today. Congress must reach a deal by this Friday, November 17, to avoid a federal government shutdown.

The continuing resolution would temporarily fund some government agencies through mid-January and others through early February. If the bill passes the House, it’s expected to clear the Senate.
If Congress does not reach an agreement by the deadline, the Association is preparing an online resource page with information on how credit unions plan to assist impacted members. Please email details to Michelle Byrnie-Parker (if you haven’t already) at mparker@mddccua.org. It’s important to demonstrate that credit unions are there to assist members proactively during times of crisis.
