Community Day at Del-One Federal Credit Union
Del-One FCU recently celebrated its second annual Community Day! Over 180 teammates donated approximately 1200 hours of their time, talent, skills, and muscle to help twelve different organizations throughout the state of Delaware.
These organizations included: Central Delaware Habitat for Humanity, Brandywine Valley SPCA in New Castle County, Modern Maturity Center in Dover, Mamie Warren Senior Center in Smyrna, Sunday Breakfast Mission in Wilmington, Food Banks of Delaware in Newark and Milford, Rose Hill Community Center in New Castle, Shepherd’s Office in Georgetown, People’s Place II in Dover, Sussex County Habitat for Humanity, & Redemption City in Seaford.
Del-One teammates spent their day at these organizations assisting with everything from cleaning, organizing, painting, building and so much more. Teammates shared they loved being able to connect with the community, and the experiences were both humbling and powerful. In a feedback survey, teammates spoke about their individual experiences. One teammate stated she loved helping and “being part of something bigger than myself.” Another teammate said, “I thought it was a great experience and I enjoyed representing Del-One and backing up our promise of being here for our communities”.
