Renowned Labor Credit Union Chairman, Dr. Kevin Jackson Ph.D., Leaves a Legacy of Leadership and Compassion
Labor Credit Union has announced the passing of Dr. Kevin Jackson Ph.D. who served as Chair of the Board of Directors.

“Kevin was a remarkable leader. His commitment to serving, his passion for teaching, and compassion for others were unmatched. With every interaction Kevin had with someone, he would motivate, encourage, inspire, challenge, celebrate, and appreciate the people around him. He made us all better. He will be deeply missed,” said Labor CU President/CEO Thomas Domingue.
Dr. Jackson first joined the Board of Labor CU in 2014 and became the Board Chair in 2021. In Kevin’s brief 2.5-year tenure as Chair, his leadership style has left an indelible imprint on the heart of the Board of Directors and Supervisory Committee. In the interest of the credit union membership, Kevin insisted on their due diligence and commitment to board governance. Under Dr. Jackson’s guidance as Board Chair, Labor CU has successfully expanded their field of membership to multiple groups and organizations who are underserved, including students and faculty of University of D.C., and members of the Labor Council For Latin American Advancement. It was Dr. Jackson’s vision that led to the establishment of The Labor Community Foundation, a 501(C)3 organization managed by the Labor CU, with a mission to help create opportunities to empower individuals and help them grow in their career development.
To honor Dr. Jackson, Labor CU will be establishing The Kevin Jackson scholarship program that will be used to help underserved and underprivileged young adults further their education and career development skills. Donations to this scholarship program can be made via the Labor Community Foundation Donation website, https://laborfoundation.org/donations/.
Webster Coleman, who is Vice Chair, will be assuming the Board Chair role.
