Federal Government Shutdown Avoided
President Joe Biden signed a temporary funding bill late Saturday night after Congress narrowly averted a federal government shutdown.

The House and Senate passed a continuing resolution to keep federal agencies open just hours before the 11:59 pm deadline. The bill funds the government through November 17. Congress must now resume negotiations to pass another spending bill before the Thanksgiving recess.
