First Financial Donates $4,500 to Eastern Shore Schools

To honor our educators, First Financial Federal Credit Union was the proud sponsor of Teacher Appreciation Night at the Delmarva Shorebirds vs. Fredericksburg Nationals game at Franklin P. Perdue Stadium on September 8th. To celebrate the occasion, the credit union donated $4,500 to the county public school systems in the Delmarva region.

As a credit union created by two public school teachers in 1953, Teacher Appreciation Night hits home for the credit union and its commitment to education. To support the Delmarva school community, First Financial donated $500 to each county school system, which includes the counties of Accomack, VA; Caroline, MD; Dorchester, MD; Queen Anne’s, MD; Somerset, MD; Sussex, DE; Talbot, MD; Wicomico, MD; and Worchester, MD.

“Over the past year, we have enjoyed engaging with the Eastern Shore community, and working with our new school partners in the area,” mentioned Eric Church, First Financial President and CEO. “We were excited to team up with the Delmarva Shorebirds for this special opportunity to celebrate our local educators on Teacher Appreciation Night.”

For Teacher Appreciation Night, educators were able to receive two free tickets to the Friday night, Shorebirds/Nationals game. The first 1,000 attendees also received a First Financial co-branded Jackson Holliday Jersey lunchbox giveaway. To kick off the game, Church had the honor of throwing the first ceremonial pitch.
