Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Celebrate 40 Years
What started as a telethon in 1983, has grown into one of the leading organizations raising funds for pediatric health care having raised over $8 Billion dollars. Credit Unions have played a significant role in that success.

Since 1996, Credit Unions for Kids has raised over $180 million nationally for Children’s Miracle Network (CMN)Hospitals, and locally, credit unions have raised almost $11 million through events such as the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run and charity golf tournaments. The funds raised help these hospitals treat 10 million critically ill children annually, regardless of their ability to pay.
Nick Coleman, National Director of Strategic Partners for CMN Hospitals, said,”Credit unions have been one of our top 5 partners in our history. We are grateful for your support and we look forward to the next 40 years of changing kids’ health to change the future!”
To mark 40 years, CMN Hospitals is sharing inspirational messages from a few of the organization’s National Champions.
