The MD|DC Credit Union Association has recognized WSSC Federal Credit Union CEO Jeff Goff for outstanding leadership with its 2023 Professional of the Year Award.

Since taking on the role of CEO in 2014, Goff has led WSSC FCU towards significant growth and greater innovation, more than doubling the credit union’s assets from $14 million to $30 million.

“Jeff is so deserving of the Professional of the Year Award,” said Mark Brackett, Board Chair, WSSC FCU. “He works tirelessly as an innovator and collaborator and is always pulling our credit union forward along with other small asset credit unions.”

Under Jeff’s leadership the credit union’s footprint has expanded with the opening of a second branch, along with two successful mergers of faith-based credit unions. Jeff has guided WSSC FCU toward embracing technology and implementing creative ideas to enhance the member experience. The credit union has introduced online enrollment, allowing new members to join almost entirely online. Additionally, business accounts have been introduced, and the Platinum Program was launched to provide special offers and waive select fees for members aged 62 and over.

“Jeff has helped transform WSSC FCU from a small shop into a modern financial institution that provides its members with the latest technology and an expanded range of services,” said Roman Abate, Supervisory Committee Member, WSSC FCU.

Jeff played a key role in establishing a forum through the Association for small asset credit unions. The quarterly roundtable allows credit unions to learn from one another, explore partnerships, and identify areas of mutual interest for collaboration.
