More Friendly Than Fierce, This Capitol Hill Tradition Marks 25 Years!
Celebrating a quarter century Sunday, the Capitol Hill Competition is part of the Credit Union Cherry Blossom 10 Mile Run.
This year, 77 teams competed, with 50 teams from the Senate, 24 from the House of Representatives and three representing federal agencies.
With team names like “Carperdiem” (Sen. Tom Carper), “Marcothon” (Sen. Marco Rubio), “Van Hooligans” (Sen. Chris Van Hollen) and “Cruz Control “(Sen. Ted Cruz) this Capitol Hill tradition is all about having fun. And winning… it’s DC after all!
“Last Best Pace,” a team representing Montana Sen. John Tester’s office, finished first and is the unofficial winner of the coveted Capitol Hill Cup.
