2012 Leadership Forum

April 19-20, 2012

Loews Annapolis Hotel

126 West Street

Annapolis, MD 21401

This year's Leadership Forum will introduce a new format and a new focus - a collaboration of five speakers offering a unique opportunity to hear from esteemed business leaders and credit union supporters about the value of leadership.

Harry Kraemer will speak about what makes a great leader and the importance of knowing oneself, one’s priorities and one’s values, and letting those things guide you every day. His presentation will include the four essential value principles that will help leaders make better decisions and deliver lasting results.

Bill Cheney will share his vision of how CUNA will continue to support, protect, unify and advance the credit union movement in the future. Bill will discuss how CUNA will evolve to consistently and accurately anticipate the needs of its members as the credit union landscape continues to change.

Steve Williams will provide pragmatic advice on how financial institutions can ensure their viability, relevance and success in the most difficult industry environment ever known. Hear insight into strategy, technology, marketing and talent management based upon Cornerstone’s work with hundreds of financial institutions around the country and the firm’s leading industry benchmarks. Join the candid discussion of what it will take to survive and thrive in the years ahead.

Anirban Basu will provide you with an understanding of emerging trends and the likely ramifications of your business decisions. Basu is known not only for the quality of analysis, but also for the power of his presentations.  His presentation is focused on the core aspects of the issue at hand in the Maryland and District of Columbia.

John McKechnie will give his insider perspective on the Washington legislative and regulatory scene, the increased political threats from the banker lobby, and what you can do about it. John will lead an interactive discussion on the ways that Maryland and DC credit unions can increase their effectiveness and make certain that we have influence over every governmental decision that impacts credit unions and their members.
