Point Breeze CU Gains Over 1,400 Members in Merger

Point Breeze Credit Union (PBCU) has gained over 1,400 new members since the Baltimore Pipe Trades Federal Credit Union merged with PBCU. The merger took place on Monday, December 12, 2011.

Genie Briggs, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development, said the credit union is excited about the new merger. “It was a great opportunity for our credit unions to merge.  We are able to expand the scope and reach of financial products and service offerings. Most of the Baltimore Pipe Trades Federal Credit Union members were excited to learn that we offered mobile banking, featured free checking without minimums and a variety of loan types.  We look forward to offering the skilled workers long term financial solutions and convenience.”

The Baltimore Pipe Trades Federal Credit Union consists of members in Plumbers and Steam Fitters Local Union 486, and Sprinkler Fitters Local Union 536. The credit union had approximately 1,493 members who’s accounts were transferred to PBCU.

Point Breeze Credit Union was established in 1935. Membership is open to all individuals that work, worship, are members of and/or volunteer for an organization located within 20-miles of a branch. Branches are located in Hunt Valley, Golden Ring and Bel Air.
