Regulatory Training & Certification Program (RegTraC)

CUNA’s Regulatory Training & Certification Program is the credit union movement’s premier training and certification program. Keeping up with credit union laws and regulations is critical; RegTraC makes it easy and convenient. Build compliance knowledge and policies with training designed specifically for credit unions needs, for those in a compliance or non-compliance role. RegTraC covers all the regulations your credit unions needs to know about.

  • National Recognition & Certification

  • RegTraC Level 1 - An Achievement Certificate is awarded for each exam passed. After successfully completing all five exams, Level 1 students receive the Compliance Achievement Award.

  • RegTraC Level 2 - Successful completion of all five Level 2 proctored exams earns the Compliance Expert Certificate and designation as a CUCE (Credit Union Compliance Expert). Select RegTraC Level 2 modules offer college credit through the American Council on Education (ACE). Plus, both the RegTraC Level 2 Compliance Expert Certificate and CUCE designation have been accepted by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) for the Certified Internal Auditor® (CIA) exam Part IV Professional Recognition Credit. Volunteer Achievement Program (VAP)

CUNA’s Volunteer Achievement Program (VAP) helps credit union volunteers learn to work effectively, make informed decisions, and improve credit union performance.

Today’s rapidly changing credit union climate has credit unions relying more heavily than ever on the leadership skills of their elected officials. In fact, to keep up with this pace more and more credit unions are requiring continuing education for their volunteers. VAP is your credit union’s solution to find learning opportunities here for both new and experienced volunteers.


CU Advance Program

The key to creating high performing employees! CU Advance is an interactive, competency-based learning program developed by CUNA Center for Professional Development. Learners take courses based on their own personal competencies, knowledge, training, and experience.

Each CU Advance learning module consists of 5-6 courses. Each course is designed to provide 20-30 minutes of optimum learning enjoyment. This unique approach to self-study education allows learners to take a pre-test for each module and then based on the results, they can take the recommended courses or skip to the final exam.


STAR (Staff Training and Recognition) and MERIT (Management Enrichment Training) Programs


STAR and MERIT offer practical job-specific training courses designed to develop staff to their top performance potential. These traditional courses are offered in both paper-based and online formats to make learning easy. One final exam per course provides the student the opportunity to test their knowledge with either online or print-based exams.
