Community means different things to different people; however, MDDCCUA facilitates and encourages its affiliates to reach out to their neighbors through educational events and participation in a variety of opportunities geared toward improving the lives of those neighbors within the region.
- Money Power Day
- Money Power Day is a free financial fitness event dedicated to helping participants boost their financial well-being. This is an energy-packed day filled with exciting activities designed to inspire and inform people of all ages and income levels. This year’s event, held April 2, 2011, had over 1,300 participants from the Baltimore metro area. Now more than ever, people are looking for answers to their financial questions, and Money Power Day is designed to help.
- Dollars & Sense Expo
- The Dollars & Sense Expo (DSE) to benefit consumers throughout the DC Metro area. The 2nd Expo was held Saturday, March 6, at the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Washington. The Dollars & Sense Expo provides free tax preparation, free credit reports, educational sessions, and access to exhibitors that include credit unions, governmental and non-profit agencies. The Expo was inspired by the success of Baltimore Money Power Day, which attracted over 1,300 consumers in its sixth year by providing Baltimore-area residents easy access to financial counseling and services.
